Sleeping Beauty Wakes

These 5 custom metal beds were built for McCarter Theatre’s production of Sleeping Beauty Wakes, designed by Riccardo Hernandez. The steel frames were built with strength in mind, being that they were part of the choreography and had to support multiple cast members. To facilitate easy movement, hospital grade “double locking” casters were chosen, which required machining metric weld nuts to fit inside standard steel tubing. One bed contained a “secret” compartment.
